About the Position

 

Making Your Impact, LLC is seeking a remote Podcast Production Intern who wants to use their skills to make a positive difference in the world! Ideal candidates are self-motivated and highly detail-oriented. Also, since the position requires editing several podcasts every week, it would be best if candidates listen to and are familiar with podcasts!

 

This position is well-suited for candidates who desire a career in content creation and media production. Training will be provided!

Making Your Impact, LLC exists to inspire and equip you to pursue your calling and make your positive impact in the world! CEO of Making Your Impact, LLC, Melissa Eick, draws upon her experience as a non-profit co-founder and anti - human trafficking activist to motivate others. She currently shares her message through the Making Your Impact Podcast, as well as through writing and public speaking.

 

Important Details

 

Location: Position is remote. Making Your Impact, LLC is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, but applicants both within and outside of Oklahoma welcome.

 

Compensation: Internship is unpaid, but we're happy to work with students to get course credit for their experience! Fun and practical professional development opportunities will be offered, as well!

 

Hours: 5-7 hours/week (will work with students who need a certain number of hours for course credit). Days/times flexible according to students' course schedule as long as required tasks are completed on time!

Qualifications

 

Education:

  • Sophomores, Junior, Seniors,

  • Preferred majors: Communications, Media Production, or related field

 

Equipment/Tools:

  • Reliable computer

  • Reliable internet

  • Approved editing program downloaded on your computer: Audacity (free download, preferred software), Garage Band, etc.

 

Soft Skills:

  • Professional integrity when handling confidential data

  • Desire to make a difference in the world, not seeking just any internship!

  • Strong verbal communication

  • Detail-oriented and patient, dedication to excellent work product

  • Proactive self-starter who enjoys working independently

  • Able to meet deadlines

  • Good with receiving and implementing constructive feedback

 

Technical Skills:

  • Familiar with Zoom, as staff meetings will take place over this platform

  • Training will be provided, but familiarity with audio editing software, e.g., Audacity / Garage Band / Adobe Audition, is a plus

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in online meetings

  • Edit 1 podcast episode per week

  • Meticulous attention to detail: eliminating ums/ahs, breath and mouth sounds, flubs and mistakes, technical glitches

  • Make changes and corrections (a positive attitude toward constructive feedback is a must!)

  • Preferred majors: Communications, Public Relations, Marketing/Advertising, Graphic Design

 

Equipment/Tools:

  • Reliable computer suitable for graphic design

  • Reliable internet

  • Professional integrity when handling confidential data

  • Desire to make a difference in the world, not seeking just any internship!

  • Strong verbal communication

  • Detail-oriented and patient, dedication to excellent work product

  • Proactive self-starter who enjoys working independently

  • Able to meet deadlines

  • Good with receiving and implementing constructive feedback

 

Technical Skills:

  • Familiar with Zoom, as staff meetings will take place over this platform

  • Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn

  • Familiarity with at least one basic graphic design program, e.g., Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, PicMonkey, Canva

  • Use appropriate colors, fonts, layouts, design elements to ensure graphic designs align with branding and are consistent

  • Strong grasp of grammar and punctuation; meticulous attention to detail

  • Strong writing skills

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in online meetings

  • Create posts for Instagram grid + stories, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn

  • Design approximately 2-4 social media graphics each week

  • Schedule social media posts on multiple platforms
